Gear donation helps Mongolian cricket
May 2, 2026

A shipment of second-hand cricket gear donated by the club, our players and junior families, is off to Mongolia to support the game in a country where participation is growing but equipment is in short supply.
The club has partnered with Cricket Victoria in bringing this initiative to life.
The concept grew from a routine end-of-season equipment shed clean-out at Spring Creek Reserve, and a desire to see our excess equipment given another life.
We called for donations from within our club community to add to the gear from our shed, and after receiving several generous donations, committee member Blake Chadwick delivered a bootload of gear to Cricket Victoria at its Junction Oval headquarters this week.
From the Junction Oval, the equipment will be shipped to the Mongolian Cricket Association, where it will find its way to cricketers eager to learn the game.
Our thanks to Chris Harris and Jake McLean from Cricket Victoria (pictured here with Blake), for their help in bringing this little project to life.
It's now something we hope to repeat each year, establishing a lasting connection with cricket in Mongolia.
